Mountville - Page 6
Originally settled by Scotch-Irish settlers in the 1720s, Mountville officially became a borough of West Hempfield Township in 1906. Iron ore mining was Mountville's primary industry in the early 1800s, and evidence of the mining is still evident today. In fact, Lake Grubb, a beautiful nature park in Mountville, is the site of a former iron ore mine.
