Marietta - Page 8
Located along the Susquehanna River, this charming town was originally established as an American Indian trading post. The thriving lumber industry contributed to the establishments within Marietta and unlike other Lancaster County towns, most homes and buildings were built with lumber instead of stone or brick.
Marietta has maintained and preserved its 19th century appeal-more than half the town is designated as a National Historic District. It's also home to local art galleries, coffee shops and antique stores, providing a slower paced atmosphere within the historical feel of the 19th century.
