Elizabethtown
Situated in the northwest corner of Lancaster County, Elizabethtown is one of only two towns in the county (Mount Joy is the other) with an officially designated Main Street District. The area serves the town with a variety of shops, galleries, museums and restaurants.
Designed around a central square, many of Elizabethtown's buildings showcase the architecture of the 19th and early 20th century styles. Stories of the past are told through vivid paintings and murals that still endure on the sides of buildings.
In 1832, the arrival of the railroad improved transportation routes, and an Amtrak train station is still active today. Elizabethtown is also home to Elizabethtown College.
